Recommended Action
I nominate Tim Langworthy (incumbent), Virginia White (incumbent), Megan Fox (new applicant), Kathleen Veenstra (new applicant) and Anna Marie Salomon (new applicant) to fill three vacancies on the Library Board and move that Council appoint three nominees to the vacant position(s) as follows:
By roll call vote, Councilors vote for three nominees and the three with the highest vote total of five be appointed to fill terms beginning on 9/1/2016 and ending on 8/31/2018.

The purpose of this item is to fill three vacancies on the Library Board.
The applicants for this position are: Tim Langworthy (R), Virginia White (D), Megan Fox (D), Kathleen Veenstra (I), Anna Marie Solomon (D)
Party affiliations are noted as [D] Democrat, [R] Republican, [I] Independent, [G] Green, [L] Libertarian, [DTS] Declined to State, and [N] Not Registered to Vote.
This five member board has two-year terms beginning September 1 and ending August 31. It is currently composed as follows: Michelle Griffin (R), Jennifer Baker (I), Tim Langworthy (R), Virginia White (D), and Janet Harris (I).
The applicants were interviewed by an interview committee during August 2016. The recommendation of the interview committee is attached.
The interview committee consisted of the following: Library Board Member - Michelle Griffin, Council Liaison - Steve Girrens, Library Manager - Steven Thomas
The interview committee recommends the following applicants: Tim Langworthy, Virgina White, and Megan Fox.
Appointing any of the nominees will not violate the County Charter restriction concerning political party majorities on Boards and Commissions.
