Amendment No. 6 to Contract for General Services, Agreement No. AGR 3334-08 with Scott Scanland, increasing total compensation by $108,646.71, Extending an Existing Agreement for Three Years, Plus Applicable Gross Receipts Tax, for the Purpose of Assisting the County and Los Alamos Public Schools in their Legislature Agendas and in Securing Funding.
Recommended Action
I move that Council approve the attached Amendment No. 6 to the Contract for General Services, Agreement No. AGR 3334-08 with Scott Scanland in the annual amount of $34,215.57, plus $2,000 for reimburseable expenses, plus applicable gross receipts tax.
Administrator's Recommendation
The County Administrator recommends that Council approve the agreement as requested.
Body
Los Alamos County has utilized the services of Scott Scanland in past years for the purposes of monitoring and supporting County initiatives during State Legislative sessions. Mr. Scanland typically meets with our State Legislative Committee to develop the County's priorities, which once approved by Council, he utilizes as a guide in his discussions with elected officials in Santa Fe. A prior amendment to this agreement expanded these services to include the pursuit and monitoring of LAPS funding issues as well. Mr. Scanland also organizes a pre-session dinner to which area Representatives and Senators are invited, providing an opportunity for County/School officials to present the approved legislative priorities and discuss the importance of each initiative.

The present agreement allows for renewals to the agreement, and the proposed action above contemplates the last available extension of this agreement for an additional three years. The annual cost of services remains unchanged from the prior amendment.
Alternatives
