Recommended Motion
I move that the County Council approve Resolution No. 17-09 endorsing the North Central Regional Transit District’s FY2018 budget proposal, approving the FY2018 Los Alamos County Regional Transit Plan and directing staff to submit the FY2018 Los Alamos County Regional Transit Plan to the North Central Regional Transit District Board of Directors for consideration and approval.

Body
The North Central Regional Transit District (NCRTD) has indicated a proposed Regional Transit Gross Receipts Tax allocation to Los Alamos County for FY 2018 (July 1, 2017 - June 30, 2018) in the amount of $1,444,500. This represents an increase of $25,500 (1.8%) over the FY 2017 allocation. These funds are used to support the Transit Division budget with ongoing operating funding for NCRTD-funded routes and capital funding toward the local match of buses and bus facilities, as well as other capital projects that are consistent with regional public transportation services. Per NCRTD resolution, members are to submit locally-approved service plans to the NCRTD Board of Directors for consideration and approval. The next NCRTD Board of Directors meeting will occur on July 7, 2017, where Resolution No. 17-09 and the accompanying Los Alamos County service plan will be considered.
Staff has presented a service plan that exceeds the amount of the FY18 NCRTD award amount in order to show the need for additional funding in future years and assure the County can be fully reimbursed for the FY18 award.
