Board/Commission Re-Appointment - Environmental Sustainability Board
Recommended Action
I nominate James Robinson [R] to fill one vacancy on the Environmental Sustainability Board and move that Council re-appoint Mr. Robinson for a second term ending on July 31, 2019.
Body
The Environmental Sustainability Board is a seven member board with staggered two-year terms beginning August 1 and ending July 31. A copy of the current Board Member list is attached for reference (Attachment A).
The vacancy represents an expired term ending on July 31, 2017 for James Robinson. Mr. Robinson is an incumbent and is eligible for re-appointment. This re-appointment is being brought to Council this evening to address having three vacancies on the board as of July 31.
There are two remaining vacancies on the board which represent expired terms for Danny Katzman and Rebecca Chamberlin. Mr. Katzman and Mrs. Chamberlin are not interested in re-appointment. An active recruitment effort is currently being conducted.
The applicant for re-appointment is James Robinson [R].
The applicant was interviewed by an interview committee on June 20, 2017. The interview committee consisted of the following:

Council Liaison: Pete Sheehey
ESB Staff Liaison: Angelica Gurule
The interview committee recommends re-appointing James Robinson.
Party affiliations are noted as [D] Democrat, [R] Republican, [I] Independent, [G] Green, [L] Libertarian, [DTS] Declined to State, and [N] Not Registered to Vote.
Appointing the applicant will not violate the County Charter restriction concerning political party majorities on Boards and Commissions.
