Library Board Appointments
Recommended Action
I nominate Jennifer Baker (incumbent) Rebecca Rodriguez (new applicant) Ellen Wren Propp (new applicant) to fill two vacancies on the Library Board and move that Council appoint two of the nominees to the vacant position(s) as follows:
By roll call vote, Councilors vote for two nominees and the two with the highest vote total of four of more be appointed or re-appointed to fill terms beginning on 9-2-2017 and ending on 8-31-2019.

The purpose of this item is to fill two vacancies on the Library Board.
The applicants for this position are: Jennifer Baker [I], Rebbeca Rodriguez [D], Ellen Wren Propp [DTS]
Party affiliations are noted as [D] Democrat, [R] Republican, [I] Independent, [G] Green, [L] Libertarian, [DTS] Declined to State, and [N] Not Registered to Vote.
This five member board has two two-year terms beginning September 1st and ending August 31st. It is currently composed as follows: Michelle Griffin [R], Jennifer Baker [I], Tim Langworthy [R], Virginia White [D] Megan Fox [D].
The applicants were interviewed by an interview committee on August 14th 2017. The recommendation of the interview committee is attached.
The interview committee consisted of the following:
Library Board Member - Jennifer Baker
Library Board Member - Tim Langworthy
Council Liaison - Christine Chandler
Library Manager - Eileen Sullivan
The interview committee recommends the following applicants: Jennifer Baker and Rebecca Rodriguez
Appointing any of the nominees will not violate the County Charter restriction concerning political party majorities on Boards and Commissions.
