Suggested Motion
I move that County Council approve Resolution 17-22, a Resolution formally adopting the Los Alamos County, New Mexico All-Hazard Emergency Operations Plan in compliance with the State of New Mexico Civil Emergency Preparedness Act (12-10-1 through 12-10-10).
Recommendation
The County Manager recommends that Council approve the motion as presented.
Body
Across the United States, natural and human-caused disasters have led to increasing levels of death, injury, property damage, environmental impacts, and interruption of business and government services. Los Alamos County, New Mexico, recognizes the consequences of disasters and the need to respond to, recover from, prepare for and mitigate against disasters and emergencies that may befall our community. We therefore put forth for adoption this Los Alamos County, New Mexico All-Hazard Emergency Operations Plan of December 2017, as the official emergency operations plan for Los Alamos County, superseding any previous emergency operations plan.
