Title

Board/Commission Appointment - Historic Preservation Advisory Board

Recommended Action

I nominate Jordan Jarrett to fill one vacancy on the Historic Preservation Advisory Board to fill a term which began on May 2, 2017 and ends on May 5, 2020.

Body

The purpose of this item is to fill one vacancy on the Historic Preservation Advisory Board.

This Board vacancy was created when Phil Gursky, who was appointed to the Board on May 2, 2017, resigned the appointment due to a conflict of interest before being seated.  Prior to his appointment, the position had been vacant for a number of years. In the past, it has been a challenge to fill this vacancy.

The applicant for this position is:  Jordan Jarrett [D], an Archaeological Technician with Bandelier.  Party affiliations are noted as [D] Democrat, [R] Republican, [I] Independent, [G] Green, [L] Libertarian, [DTS] Declined to State, and [N] Not Registered to Vote.

This five-member board has staggered three-year terms.  It is currently composed of members as listed in Attachment A.

Appointing  the nominee will not violate the County Charter restriction concerning political party majorities on Boards and Commissions.
