Presentation of 2018 Ballfield Assessment at Overlook Park and North Mesa Sports Complex

County Council assigned the Parks and Recreation Board the task of receiving public input and making recommendations for softball/baseball capacity needs, uses and lighting. Parks and Recreation Board Chair, Stephanie Nakhleh, will discuss the board’s efforts in reviewing those items with various members of the public including field users, coaches, LAPS Athletic Director, organizational representatives, volunteers and staff. The assessment has documented field usages, assessed physical conditions of the fields, investigated lighting needs, and identified the multi-use benefits the facilities offer the larger community. Staff comments will also discuss current scheduling of fields.
