...Recommended Action
I move to approve Incorporated County of Los Alamos Resolution No. 18-20 to authorize the application for competitive grant funding through the New Mexico Environmental Department (NMED) for the 2018 Funding Cycle of New Mexico Volkswagen Environmental Mitigation Trust Program in the amount of $371,874 which would provide the local match requirement associated with the FTA Low-No Emission Program.
County Manager’s Recommendation
The County Manager recommends that Council approve the motion as presented.
Body
NMED is offering this initial round of funding for heavy-duty on-road and limited off-road diesel emission reduction projects throughout New Mexico. An application for FTA’s Low-No Emission 2018 grant program, through the NMDOT, requested the purchase of two electric powered buses and charging stations has been approved by FTA. This grant application would provide the local match requirement of $371,874 associated with the $1,859,370 FTA’s Low-No Emission Program.

The request is to expend the NMED funds as a local match in FY19 ($185,937) and FY 20 ($185,937).
