Recognition of the New Mexico Counties Audit & Accountability Awards for Los Alamos County for Continued Audit Excellence

Body

The State Auditor's Office has developed an award program to recognize local governments for their efforts and performance with respect to their annual audit.  The criteria require few (or no) audit findings for the prior period, and the recipients have historically been categorized by the organization's size.  Los Alamos has previously won the "medium-size County" award for Fiscal Years 2012, 2014, and 2016. This year, the State Auditor added a few new categories, and Los Alamos was recognized for "Continuing Excellence".  The County Awards were distributed during this year's Legislative Conference hosted by NM Counties.  Attachment A is a summary of the awards that were made this past cycle, and Attachment B is a picture taken when the Award was presented.

The purpose of this agenda item is to recognize the receipt of this award.
