Consideration of Budget Revision 2019-34 in the Amount of $50,000 for a Social Services Gap Analysis
Recommended Action
I move that Council approve Budget Revision 2019-34 as summarized on attachment A and that the attachment be made a part of the minutes of this meeting.
County Manager's Recommendation
The County Manager recommends that Council approve the budget revision as requested.
Body
The issue of our local provision of Social Services has been the subject of several public meetings as of late, and one outcome of these meetings has been the suggestion that the County explore the development of a gap analysis regarding the local provision of related services. This subject was discussed at the most recent County Council meeting (3/19), and subsequent to that discussion individual councilors have requested that staff bring forward a recommendatiuon regarding how to proceed. The original intent was for this budgetary request to be presented during our April budget hearings, however given the noted requests this budget adjustment is being brought forward now in order to promote the initiation of this analysis earlier than would otherwise be allowed. A summary of the budget revisions and specific details relating to the item are in Attachment A.
Alternatives
Council could choose not to approve the attached revision. The impact would be that the County would not complete the gap analysis survey at this time.
