Board/Commission Appointments - Art in Public Places Board
Recommended Action
I nominate Jennifer Baker, Peter Carson and Catherine Ozment for re-appointment to the Art in Public Places Board for a term beginning on March 25, 2019 and ending on March 24, 2021.
I further move Council acknowledge that Catherine Ozment intends to continue serving on the Community Development Advisory Board and Jennifer Baker intends to continue serving on the Library Board while serving on the Art in Public Places Board. Council finds these two positions are not incompatible. Council approves of their serving concurrently on both boards, and hereby appoints all three to the Art in Public Places Board.

The purpose of this item is to fill three vacancies on the Art in Public Places Board. The three vacancies represent the applicants’ expiring terms, which all ended on Mar 24, 2019. The applicants for these positions are:
Jennifer Baker (DTS)
Peter Carson (R)
Catherine Ozment (D)
All applicants were interviewed by an interview committee on April 2, 2019. The interview committee consisted of the following: APP Chair: Jeremy Smith; Council Liaison: Katrina Schmidt; and APP Staff Liaison: Katy Korkos. The interview committee recommends re-appointing Jennifer Baker, Peter Carson, and Catherine Ozment.
Party affiliations are noted as [D] Democrat, [R] Republican, [I] Independent, [G] Green, [L] Libertarian, [DTS] Declined to State, and [N] Not Registered to Vote.
This five-member board has 2 year terms and is currently composed as follows:

Jeremy Smith (DTS)
Appointing any of the nominees will not violate the County Charter restriction concerning political party majorities on Boards and Commissions.
