Body

The ESB discussed the award categories, criteria, name and process at the April 2019 meeting. The following changes were made. The award name was changed from Recycler of the Year Award to Zero Waste Champion Award to be more inclusive of all sustainability issues. The categories were also enhanced from two categories - Educational Institute and Business/Non-Profit, to five categories - Schools, Business, Small Business, Restaurant, and Non-Profit Organizations. The winners will be announced at the Chamber of Commerce Banquet on June 7th, and at Chamber Fest on June 8th.

 

Tentative Timeline:

                     April 18 - discussed and defined 2019 Business Recycler of the Year categories and criteria

                     April 27 (starting at Earth Day) - Began accepting nominations for Zero Waste Champion of the Year

                     May 17 - Deadline for nominees to accept and complete follow-up questions

                     May 20 - Nominations and responses are submitted to public for vote using Survey Monkey

                     June 7/8th - Winners will be announced at 2019 Los Alamos Chamber of Commerce Business Awards Reception and at Chamber Fest
