Recommended Action
I nominate Steve Barretta and Sarah Nichols to fill two vacancies on the Transportation Board which began March 1, 2019, and end on February 28, 2021.
Body
The purpose of this item is to fill two vacancies on the Transportation Board. Don Machen and Nancy Barnes’ second terms expired on February 28, 2019 and the County Charter does not allow them to continue to serve.
This seven-member board has staggered two-year terms beginning March 1 and ending February 28. The current Transportation Board membership is shown on Attachment A.
The interview panel is recommending appointment of the following applicants:
Steve Barretta [R] and Sarah Nichols [D].
Applicants were interviewed by an interview committee on May 2, 2019. The interview committee consisted of the following:
Council Member: Antonio Maggiore
Board Chair: Sriram Swaminarayan
Deputy Public Works Director: Jon Bulthuis
Party affiliations are noted as [D] Democrat, [R] Republican, [I] Independent, [G] Green, [L] Libertarian, [DTS] Declined to State, and [N] Not Registered to Vote.
