Discussion and Possible Action Regarding Revisions to County Council Procedural Rules
Recommended Action
I move that the Council approve the amended procedural rules as shown in Attachment A.
Body
The County Council routinely reviews and modifies its parliamentary rules. Attachment A includes recommendations for modifications to existing rules while Attachment B shows the redlined changes from the previous version of the rules.
There is one substantive change:
1. A new procedure with timelines has been developed and added for the performance review of Council's contract employees.
Alternatives
The Council could choose to not modify its existing rules or alternately could assign the Rules Committee to review the attached document and bring forth the Committee's own recommendation for any suggested modifications.
Fiscal and Staff Impact/Unplanned Item
There are no anticipated impacts as the suggested modifications are limited to how Council members conduct themselves.
