Title
FY2020 Golf Course Patio Enclosure Project - MFM Scope Change and Budget Reallocation
Recommended Action
I move that Council approve a modification of the scope for the Golf Course Patio Enclosure project to change it from a seasonal enclosure to a year-round enclosure, and approve a related budget reallocation
to increase this project budget by $95,000, from $150,000 to $245,000.
...County Manager's Recommendation
The County Manager recommends that Council approve the motion as presented.
Body
The FY2020 Major Facilities Maintenance Project table, approved by County Council as part of the 2019-2020 Biennial Budget, includes the Golf Course Patio Enclosure Project with a budget of $150,000. As the design for this project got underway, and the scope of the improvements to be designed were specified, the programmatic uses of this facility were once again revisited with unanimous agreement among those participating in the discussion that the design and construction scope should be expanded such that the facility could be used as a four-season space complete with adequate insulation, double pane windows, HVAC equipment sufficient to heat and cool the enclosure, and additional lighting needed for what will now be considered a live-able space.
Alternatives
Council could choose to leave the scope as previously planned.
Fiscal and Staff Impact/Planned Item
Staff impact is minimal. As noted above, the FY2020 budget by facility (Major Facilities Maintenance Projects schedule in the Budget Book) included $150,000 programmed for the Golf Course Club House. The additional $95,000 of spending authority needed to complete the patio enclosure project as described above would be reallocated to this project from the un-programmed FY2020 budget authority balance.
