Approval of Revisions to County Council Procedural Rules
Recommended Action
I move that the Council approve the amended procedural rules as shown in Attachment A.
Body
The County Council routinely reviews and modifies its procedural rules. Attachment A is the proposed amended procedural rules while Attachment B shows the redlined changes from the previous version of the rules.
There are two substantive changes:
1. Added response to Inspection of Public Records requests to Councilor duties.
2. Clarification to "Councilor Email Communication" section.
Alternatives
The Council could choose to not modify its existing rules or alternately could assign the Rules Committee to review the attached document and bring forth the Committee's own recommendation for any suggested modifications.
Fiscal and Staff Impact/Unplanned Item
There are no anticipated impacts as the suggested modifications are limited to how Council members conduct themselves.
