Recognition of Government Finance Officers Association Awards for FY2018 CAFR and FY2018 PAFR

This item is to acknowledge the efforts of County staff in the preparation of the FY2018 Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR), and the FY2018 Popular Annual Financial Report (PAFR).
The GFOA has announced the County's attainment of a special award. As noted in the attachment, "the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting was awarded to the Incorporated County of Los Alamos by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) for its CAFR. The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management." This award is the 28th year that Los Alamos County has received this honor.
The FY2018 PAFR was also awarded the Certificate of Achievement from GFOA. The PAFR "received a weighted average score of 75.00 percent or above from three of the four highest individual reviews. This award represents the third year of receipt of this distinction in the three years that the PAFR has been submitted.
Representatives from the Finance Division will be in attendance to receive the awards.
