Title

Approval of Services Agreement No. AGR24-63 with Transmission & Distribution Services, LLC in the amount of $104,985.00, a $25,000 project contingency, plus Applicable Gross Receipts Tax, for the Purpose of Designing a New Electric Distribution Line to Replace the Existing EA4 Feeder Line.

Recommended Action

I move that the Board of Public Utilities approve Services Agreement No. AGR24-63 with Transmission & Distribution Services in the amount of $104,985.00, a $25,000 project contingency, plus applicable gross receipts tax, for the Purpose of Designing a New Electric Distribution Line to Replace the Existing EA4 Feeder Line.

Utilities Manager's Recommendation

The Utilities Manager recommends that the Board approve the motion as presented.

Body

The EA4 line is the primary source of power for the town site water well system. The EA4 line is operating over its designed age limits and line failure is imminent. The EA4 Feeder is an overhead distribution line which commences at the County’s Pajarito Cliffs Site, heads north for approximately 2.5 miles across 4 canyons, and ends at the base of Rendija Canyon. The Feeder traverses Pueblo, Bayo, Barranca and Rendija Canyons largely by following the terrain down, up, and across each of the four canyons utilizing many poles and double dead-end structures; many of which are not accessible for replacement.

Alternatives

No action will delay replacement of the line.

Fiscal and Staff Impact

The project is within in the approved budget of $200,000.
