Recommended Action
I move that Council nominate and appoint Jason A. Chappel to fill a vacancy on the Transportation Board, with a term expiring on February 28, 2027.
Body
This item addresses the appointment of a new member to the Transportation Board following the departure of Georgia Strickfaden, who reached her term limit.
The Transportation Board consists of seven members serving staggered two-year terms, beginning on March 1 and ending on February 28. The current member roster is provided in Attachment A.
After conducting interviews on February 28, 2025, the interview panel recommends the appointment of Jason A. Chappel [R].
Attachment A shows the current Transportation Board roster. Party affiliations are noted as follows: [D] Democrat, [R] Republican, [I] Independent, [G] Green, [L] Libertarian, [DTS] Declined to State, and [N] Not Registered to Vote. Mr. Chappel’s party affiliation has been verified by the Clerk's Office.

Appointment of the applicant will not violate the County Charter restriction concerning political party majorities on Boards and Commissions.
