Approval of Contract for General Services, Agreement No. AGR26-08 with Astro Magic in the Amount of $383,123.00, plus Applicable Gross Receipts Tax, for the Purpose of Providing Fireworks During the 4th of July Celebration Event for a Term of Seven Years
Recommended Action
I move that Council approve Agreement No. AGR26-08 with Astro Magic in the amount not to exceed $383,123.00, plus applicable gross receipts tax, for the purpose of providing fireworks during the 4th of July celebration event.
County Manager's Recommendation
The County Manager recommends that Council approve this Contract for General Services as requested.
Body
The County Purchasing Officer determined in writing that the use of competitive sealed bidding was either not practical or not advantageous to County for procurement of the Services and County issued Request for Proposals No. 26-08 (“RFP”) on June 20, 2025, requesting proposals for an annual public 4th of July fireworks display. The vendor, Astro Magic, responded to the RFP by submitting a response dated July 10, 2025, (“Contractor’s Response”); and based on the evaluation factors set out in the RFP, the vendor is recommended to provide the services listed in the RFP.
The agreement, AGR26-08, is shown in Attachment A. The highlights of the agreement are:
--responsible for designing and executing a fireworks display, no less than 15 minutes in length, visible to an audience sitting at Spirio Field in Overlook Park
--Fireworks provided on July 4th of each contract year, beginning with July 4, 2026
--Term of agreement is seven (7) years.
Alternatives
The COuncil could not approve this agreement and provide alternative direction to the County Manager.
Fiscal and Staff Impact/Planned Item
The Community Services Department is budgeted to support this agreement.
