Title

Recommended Action

I move to approve Incorporated County of Los Alamos Resolution No. 23-25 to authorize the application to New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT) for Federal Fiscal Year 2025 Section 5310 Enhanced Mobility of Seniors and Individuals with Disabilities Program for an estimated total amount of $223,471 to fund an ACT Assist Replacement Vehicle for Atomic City Transit; committing to the local match in the amount of $44,694 to fund the Section 5310 Transit Program for Federal Fiscal Year 2025.

County Manager’s Recommendation

The County Manager recommends that Council approve the Resolution as presented.

Body

The County has been utilizing Federal Transit Administration funds to provide capital assistance for Atomic City Transit since 2007. The funds are programmed by the NMDOT Transit and Rail Division based upon the submittal of an annual grant application.

 

The grant request is $223,471 for capital outlay support.  If awarded, this grant will allow Los Alamos County to continue to provide the ADA complementary paratransit service within Los Alamos County.

 

Incorporated County of Los Alamos Resolution No. 23-25 (included as Attachment B) includes committing the Local Match in the amount of $44,694, to fund the Section 5310 transit program for Federal Fiscal Year 2025.

 

A Grant Analysis and Financial Matrix Form is included as Attachment A.

Fiscal and Staff Impact/Planned Item

A portion of the administration, operating and capital is provided by North Central Regional Transit District (NCRTD) as local share in this grant request.
