Recommended Action
I move that Council approve Incorporated County of Los Alamos Resolution No. 25-14, a Resolution of Support for County Participation in the New Mexico Department of Transportation Fiscal Year 2026 Local Government Road Fund Municipal Arterial Program for the North Mesa Road Pavement Preservation Project.

Body
The New Mexico Department of Transportation solicited applications from local municipalities for street improvement funding assistance through the state of New Mexico Municipal Arterial Program (MAP). Funds awarded through MAP are distributed statewide, are limited, and must be expended within the FY26 construction season.
For Fiscal Year 2026, the NMDOT awarded Los Alamos County a combined amount of $227,185, comprised of $170,389 (75% State Share) and $56,796 (25% County match).
These funds will be utilized to offset the North Mesa Road Pavement Preservation Project, a scheduled street maintenance effort through the Public Works Traffic and Streets Pavement Preservation budget. The project consists of an asphalt mill and overlay on North Mesa Road from the Diamond Drive roundabout to the San Ildefonso Road intersection.
NMDOT requires that a resolution of support be submitted before the grant agreement is prepared and submitted. The Attorney's Office has reviewed the attached resolution (Attachment A) and has been published as required by County Code (Attachment C).
