Utilities Manager's Recommendation
The Utilities Manager recommends that Council approve the motion as presented the Board of Public Utilities.
Board, Commission or Committee Recommendation
The Board of Public Utilities reviewed this request at their regular meeting on October 21, 2026 and recommends that Council approve the motion as presented:
Body
The original Agreement covers a software application used on smartphones or similar devices to manually record utility meter data for meters not connected to the County’s AMI infrastructure. The application provides a necessary link to transmitting approximately 475 monthly meter reads from the field and converting them into an import-ready file format for the County’s ERP system, Tyler Munis, which DPU’s Finance division uses for billing, analysis, and reporting. Essentially, it functions as the communication protocol for recording and transmitting gas, water, and electric meter data into Tyler Munis.

This amendment extends the Agreement through 2033 and incorporates an annual escalator outlined in the original Agreement
...Alternatives
None - If this contract is not amended, it will expire, and DPU will lose the ability to transmit meter-reading data from non-AMI meters to Tyler Munis.
Fiscal and Staff Impact
None.
