Title

Presentation of draft recommendation from the Microtransit and Fixed-Route Study of Atomic City Transit (ACT) Services

Body

Freddy Thomas and Alex Anderson of Stantec Consulting will present the draft recommendations from the study.

From August through October 2025, ACT operated a pilot Saturday service for 13 Saturdays using an on-demand microtransit model. Community feedback indicated strong support for continuing Saturday service; however, doing so is not feasible with ACT’s current staffing resources.

In response, ACT initiated the On-Demand (Microtransit) Service Study with Stantec Consulting to evaluate opportunities for better integration of fixed-route, microtransit, and paratransit services. The study examines ways to enhance mobility within Los Alamos and between Los Alamos and White Rock while addressing changing travel patterns, operator availability challenges, interest in weekend service, and potential service improvements that could optimize existing resources.
