Fire Station #4 Artwork Acquisition Process, Theme, and Budget Discussion

The Fire Station #4 Working Group has met and discussed the key issues related to the artwork acquisition process. The Working Group is now bringing this comprehensive update to the full Board for review and discussion.
Board members will receive an overview of the State’s commissioning and acquisition process for public art. Following the presentation, the Board will discuss the potential advantages and disadvantages of deferring to the State’s process for the Fire Station #4 artwork.
The Board will also review the results of the community survey on the proposed artwork theme and discuss potential revisions informed by this feedback.
Additionally, the Board will review and discuss the anticipated budget amount for the project to ensure they are prepared to vote on both the acquisition pathway and the project budget at next month’s meeting. This discussion will allow members to consider logistical, financial, and administrative implications and ask any questions needed before making a formal decision.
