Approval of Budget Revision 2027-27 to Move Funding From the General Fund 011 to the New Speed Camera Fund 189
Recommended Action
I move that Council approve Budget Revision 2027-27 to move funding from the General Fund 011 to the new Speed Camera Fund 189 and include Attachment A as part of minutes of this meeting.
County Manager's Recommendation
The County Manager recommends that Council approve the motion as presented.
Body
During the FY27 Budget Hearings, Council approved funding for the new speed camera project, and placed that funding under the General Fund. A new fund (189 Speed Camera) was created to accurately account for the revenue and expenditures for this program. This budget revision, if approved, will move the previously earmarked funding from the General Fund to the new Speed Camera Fund. No fiscal impact, as it is moving existing funds between funds. Please see Attachment A attached with more details.
Alternatives
Should Council choose not to approve the budget revision,the revenue and expenditures for this program would need to be accounted for within the General Fund, which could cause downstream accounting issues.
Fiscal and Staff Impact/Planned Item
The net fiscal impact is a transfer of expense from General Fund to the Speed Camera fund in the amount of $300,000. There is minimal staff impact.
