Recommended Action
I move that Council approve agreement no. AGR26-888 with BIGBYTE.cc Corporation, in the amount not to exceed $550,000.00, plus applicable gross receipt tax, for the purpose of securing a remote disaster recovery site and data center with telecommunication interconnection for a term of seven (7) years.
County Manager's Recommendation
The County Manager recommends that Council approve the agreement no. AGR26-888 with BIGBYTE.cc Corporation as requested.
Body
Los Alamos County requires a secure remote Information Technology (IT) disaster recovery site and data center to ensure continuity of operations following any disruption to its primary site systems. This agreement authorizes the County to co-locate IT equipment at the BIGBYTE data center facility in Albuquerque, New Mexico, as described in attachment A.

This site provides restoration of core County IT systems and continued operation of critical business after a disaster; geographically separate, secure housing of County servers and network equipment; transfer of critical data and maintenance of critical voice communications; and 24-hour access to facilities based on completed Welcome Pack/Standard Operating Procedures. The DC Welcome Pack (Attachment B) outlines BigByte's guidelines for facility access standards, security measures, rules and regulations, visitors, etc., as well as, gathering necessary contact information of staff assigned to disaster recovery infrastructure.
