Discussion & Possible Approval of BPU Participation at the UAMPS Annual Member Conference
Recommended Action
I move that the Board of Public Utilities approve training and travel expenses not to exceed $3.500.00 per Board Member to participate in the UAMPS Annual Member Conference from August 23-25, 2026 in Logan, Utah.
I further move that if more than three Board Members wish to participate that a quorum notice is distributed as appropriate.
Utilities Manager's Recommendation
The Utilities Manager recommends that the Board approve the motion as presented.

The UAMPS Annual Member Conference is a multi-day event that brings together educational speakers, networking opportunities and family activities. UAMPS Members, along with Mayors, City Councilors, and governing boards will engage with industry experts through presentations, discussions and panels. UAMPS is excited to invite you to our annual Member Conference August 23-25, 2026 located at the Riverwoods Conference Center in Logan, Utah.
The conference will begin with a fun and casual opening banquet on Sunday, August 23rd at 6:30 PM. Please register yourself and any guests before August 14th.
Rooms are available at the Springhill Suites and Townplace Suites located in the same campus as the conference center. Please book your rooms prior to August 3rd to secure the group rate of $189/night.

Fiscal and Staff Impact
Historically, similar travel for a UAMPS conference has cost under $3,000.00. The current DPU budget includes a line item for BPU training and travel.
