Water and Energy Conservation Plan Biennial Update by Abbey Hayward

The biennial update to the Water and Energy Conservation Plan was approved by the Board of Public Utilities February 19, 2025. The 2025 update consists of general updates to staffing and graphic timelines to represent the 2020-2024 period instead of 2016-2021. The largest set of updates occur in Part II, highlighting the successes to individual projects and introducing the alignment of the Climate Action Plan initiatives. It is important to keep this plan up to date and on file with the Office of State Engineer to demonstrate current water conservation efforts if needed for water rights or funding agreements.
This Water and Energy Conservation Plan is for the 2022-2027 time period. The next major update will commence in 2026 for the 2027-2032 time period. The next update will include in-depth public engagement and full incorporation of Climate Action Plan initiatives to develop objectives and projects to best satisfy the BPU's strategic goals and objectives.
