Title

Biannual Review of DPU Rules & Regulations - Fee Schedule

Body

The Board of Public Utilities requested that the fee schedule be reviewed twice a year, normally done during the May and November work sessions. The Department of Public Utilities Rules and Regulations - Fee Schedule was last updated on May 20, 2026 with EV Chargers rates updated and Hydrant Meter Rentals added.

A presentation covering Electric Vehicle Charging Station activity from January 2026 through September 2026 will be presented. Revenue losses for the two Level III and six Level II EV chargers remain essentially unchanged.  Staff does not recommend any adjustments to the EV Charging fees at this time and recommends continuing to monitor usage and reviewing the data again in May 2027. The current fee is $0.25 per kWh for Level II chargers and $0.63 per kWh for Level III chargers.

Staff is not recommending any changes to the fees in the current Fee Schedule. The only proposed update to the Fee Schedule is in the EV Charging Session Fees section, updating terminology from "2 Phase EV Charger" and "3 Phase EV Charger" to "Level 2 EV Charger" and "Level 3 EV Charger".
