Title

Approval to Submit 2026-2030 Capital Outlay Infrastructure Capital Improvement Plan (ICIP) for Senior Centers to the New Mexico Department of Finance and Administration (DFA)

Recommended Action

I move that Council approve the submission of the 2026 Capital Outlay Infrastructure Capital Improvement Plan (ICIP) to the New Mexico Department of Finance and Administration (DFA).

County Manager's Recommendation

The County Manager recommends that Council approve the request to submit 2026 Capital Outlay Infrastructure Capital Improvement Plan (ICIP) to DFA.

Body

Each year, Los Alamos County can submit a local infrastructure capital improvement plan (ICIP) to the New Mexico Department of Finance and Administration (DFA) to establish priorities for anticipated capital projects related to our Senior Centers.  The deadline for submittal for 2026-2030 ICIP process for senior centers this year is May 15, 2024.  Attachment A is the 2026-2030 ICIP submittal and Attachment B is the required transmittal form.  One of the main priorities for Los Alamos County is an extensive upgrade to the HVAC, electric, flooring, and windows at the Betty Ehart Senior Center, located at 1101 Bathtub Row. These items must be replaced/upgraded in order to provide a safe and comfortable center for members to enjoy.  This process is followed up by the Aging and Long Term Services Department (ALTSD) in the following year.

This consent agenda item would allow the County to submit the ICIP to DFA by the deadline established.

Fiscal and Staff Impact/Planned Item

If this Item is not approved, the ICIP item will not be accepted by DFA.
