Recommended Action
I move that Council nominate and appoint Michele Altherr and Katy Jones-Gulsby to fill two vacancies on the Library Board to fill a term beginning on September 1, 2026 and ending August 31, 2028.
Body
The purpose of this item is to fill two vacancies on the Library Board. There are currently three vacancies on the Library Board.
The eligible applicants for these positions are: Michele Altherr [D] and Katy Jones-Gulsby [D].
This five member board has staggered two-year terms and is currently composed as follows:
Ryan Parker [I]
Jason Alan Chappel [R]
Party affiliations are noted as [D] Democrat, [R] Republican, [I] Independent, [G] Green, [L] Libertarian, [DTS] Declined to State, and [N] Not Registered to Vote.
Appointing both of the nominees will not violate the County Charter restriction concerning political party majorities on Boards and Commissions.
