Recommended Action
I move that the Board of Public Utilities approve Amendment No. 4 to Task Order No.1, Agreement AGR22-67b for the Purpose of Design and Construction Inspection of the Barranca Mesa Tank Repainting Project with Souder Miller & Associates in the Amount of $31,214.50 for a total Task Order amount $283,352.70, plus Applicable Gross Receipts Tax.

Body
Souder Miller & Associates is providing the engineering design and construction inspection services for the Barranca Mesa Tank Repainting Project. Task Order No.1 for this work was approved by the Board of Public Utilities on April 20, 2022 in the amount of $234,985.36 (including GRT) plus a contingency of $36,000.00. Prior task order amendments which have consumed most of the approved contingency are summarized below.
Amendment No. 1 - Electrical engineer required for lightning protection, new electric service and panel design for beacon light, mixer and SCADA equipment. These services were not included in the original task order.
Amendment No. 2 - Project was bid for the first time and no responsive bids were received. Amendment was for additional engineering services to support repackaging the project and re-bidding.
Amendment No. 3 - Additional engineering and inspection services due to extended construction time.
The substantial completion date has been extended from July 17, 2023 to August 16, 2023.
