Title

Police Station Art Project Working Group Update

Recommended Action

I move that the Arts in Public Places Board invite the following four artists identified by the Working Group- Carrie Quade, Daniel Borup, Jocelyn Russell and Reynaldo S. Rivera-  to submit proposals for this project; and that the Board recommend to Council the approval of stipends of $1,500 per artist, for a total amount not to exceed $6,000, excluding GRT, to compensate the invited artists for their proposals.

Body

Members: Jasmine Stevens, Tim Foley, James Rodriguez, Russell Naranjo; APPB members of the Police Station Working group will discuss the group’s recommendation for the finalists based on results of the August 20, 2025 working group meeting that reviewed and scored all 13 submissions for the Lion Sculpture. These finalists will be invited to submit proposals for phase 2 of this project.
