Award of Bid No. IFB25-36 with Los Alamos Landscaping & More, LLC for the Purpose of the East Park Basketball and North Mesa Tennis Court Demo and Renovation Project and the Related Budget Revision No. 2025-32
Recommended Action
I move that Council approve the Award of Bid No. 25-36 with Los Alamos Landscaping & More, LLC in the Amount of $1,850,560.80 plus two Bid Alternates in the Amount of $2,500, plus Applicable Gross Receipts Tax and a Contingency in the Amount of $198,394.25, for a Total of $2,051,455.05, for the Purpose of the East Park Basketball and North Mesa Tennis Court Demo and Renovation Project.

I further move that Council approve the Related Budget Revision No. 2025-32 as summarized in Attachment C and the attachment be made a part of the minutes of this meeting.
County Manager's Recommendation
The County Manager recommends that Council approve the motion as presented.
Body
As part of the Community Services Integrated Master Plan, the existing East Park Basketball Courts and North Mesa Park Tennis and Pickle Ball Courts need to be renovated. The athletic courts have exceeded their lifespan with minimal capital investment. Aerial photos are shown in Attachments A and B. The major elements of this project include: the demolition of the existing courts, fencing and other related construction; courts constructed on post tension concrete slabs; new slabs built over engineered fill; new court surfaces provided over the new slabs; new chain-link fencing installed at both locations; a new asphalt parking area at North Mesa Park; and new ADA compliant parking areas at East Park.

On November 21, 2024, the County advertised a formal competitive solicitation for demolition and renovation of East Park Basketball and North Mesa Tennis Courts through Invitation for Bid IFB No. 25-36.
