Recommended Action

I move that Council approve the appointment of Erik Litzenberg as Fire Chief

County Manager's Recommendation

The County Manager recommends that Council approve the motion as requested.

Body

Article III, Section 303.2 of the Los Alamos County Charter requires formal Council approval of department head appointments.  The County Manager has selected Erik Litzenberg to serve as Fire Chief. This position plays a vital role in County operations as the department head of the Fire Department.  Mr. Litzenberg's resume is shown in Attachment A.

Alternatives

Council could choose not to approve this appointment.

Salary and benefits for this position are in the approved Fire Department budget.
