Recommended Action
I introduce, without prejudice, Code Ordinance 02-337 - An Ordinance of the Incorporated County of Los Alamos, New Mexico, Amending Chapter 22, "Fire Prevention and Protection," to Correct Reference In Section 22-31(a)(1); and ask staff to ensure that it is published as provided in the County Charter.
County Manager's Recommendation
The County Manager recommends that Council introduce this Ordinance.
Body
Los Alamos County Council approved Ordinance No. 02-313 on May 25, 2022, which adopted the 2021 edition of the International Fire Code. Adoption of this code assists the Fire Marshal's office in evaluating the minimum requirements of fire and life safety considering today's demands and allows for congruent messaging to our customers between the building and fire codes. In recent review of the adopted code it was found that corrections to references are needed in Section 22-31(a)(1). Amendments to sections of the previously adopted code are introduced in this amended Code Ordinance No. 02-337.
