Recommended Action
I move that Council approve Incorporated County of Los Alamos Resolution No. 25-24, a Resolution for County Participation in the New Mexico Department of Transportation Fiscal Year 2026 Local Government Road Fund - Cooperative Agreement Program (COOP) for concrete restoration of the San Ildefonso Road Roundabout and select North Mesa Road intersections.

Body
Annually, Engineering Staff submits grant applications to the New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT) to help fund County roadway improvements through the Local Government Road Fund which is comprised of the County Arterial Program, School Bus Route, and Cooperative Agreement Program. These funds are in addition to the Local Government Road Funds referenced in Resolution 25-15 and approved by council on August 5, 2025.
For Fiscal Year 2026, the additional funds awarded by NMDOT to Los Alamos County is a combined amount of $87,639, comprised of a 75% State Share ($65,729) and 25% County Match ($21,910) under the Cooperative Agreement Program.
These funds will be utilized in the 2026 construction season to offset road construction costs. Specifically, the grant funding will be utilized for concrete restoration along North Mesa Road and the roundabout at the intersection of Diamond Dr., San Ildefonso Rd, and North Mesa Rd.
NMDOT requires a resolution from local governing bodies for each Local Government Road Fund Program as part of the cooperative agreement. The Attorney's Office has reviewed the attached resolution which has been published ...
