Recommended Action
I move that the Board of Public Utilities approve Task Order No. 35, Agreement No. AGR 22-18a for Otowi 2 and S-site Booster Station Renovations with Ritecon Construction, Inc. in the amount of $338,619.65 and a contingency of $100,000.00, plus applicable gross receipts tax, for the purpose of the LAC Booster Stations Rehabilitation and forward to Council for approval.
Utilities Manager's Recommendation
The Utilities Manager recommends that the Board approve the motion as presented.
Body
The project consists of rehabilitation improvements to the Otowi 2 and S-Site booster water production facilities. Improvements include repair or replacement of the existing roofing systems, replacement of exterior doors and windows, and repair and painting of affected interior and exterior building surfaces. Additional work includes improvements to site drainage, repairs to areas with existing water damage, and replacement of roof exhaust fans where required. These improvements are intended to address deterioration and weather-related damage and restore the facilities to good overall condition.
Alternatives
If the Board does not award the project, staff will continue to allocate staff resources to maintenance to mitigate further degradation of the station and pursue a less desirable means to keep the stations operational.
Fiscal and Staff Impact
Funds were budgeted in FY26 and will be carried over to FY27 to fund the project, no staff will be impacted
