Title

Atomic City Transit Saturday Service Pilot Program Update

Body

Los Alamos County Atomic City Transit launched a Saturday on demand service pilot to:

                     Test innovative transportation solutions.

                     Gather data for potential expansion.

Respond to community interest in more weekend mobility options.

Provide alternatives to personal vehicle use.

The Saturday Service Pilot successfully tested weekend transit in Los Alamos and White Rock on demand, delivering 359 trips for 471 riders with strong on time performance and over half of rides shared for efficiency.

Community response was largely positive, with many riders requesting continued service, more promotion, and later hours. Survey feedback and trip data will feed into a broader service study now underway to evaluate staffing needs, cost per trip, service reliability, and long-term options for improving mobility across the county.
