Possible Approval of Priority List for Future Deaccession and Relocation Reviews
Recommended Action
I move that the Art in Public Places Board accept the Deaccession and Relocation Priority List as the Board’s multi-year guide for the order in which artworks may be brought forward for formal review, and that the Deaccession and Relocation Working Group be closed.
Body
Members of the working group will present their prioritized list of artworks identified for potential deaccession, maintenance, or relocation. They recommend that this list serve as a multi-year guide for the Board, outlining the sequence in which artworks should be brought forward for formal consideration.
The working group further recommends closing the Deaccession and Relocation Working Group. As each artwork next rises on the priority list, the Chair may establish a new, artwork-specific working group to support a focused and thoughtful review process. Once the current list has been fully addressed, the Board may initiate a new working group to develop the next multi-year priority list.
