Title

Approval of Budget Revision 2027-37 for Traffic & Streets Carryover from FY25 to FY26- Continuing Appropriations That Did Not Get Carried Over

Recommended Action

I move that Council approve Budget Revision 2027-37 for Traffic & Streets Carryover from FY25 to FY26- Continuing Appropriations that did not get carried over and include Attachment A as part of minutes of this meeting.

County Manager's Recommendation

The County Manager recommends that Council approve the motion as presented.

Body

During FY26 Budget Hearings, Council approved continuing appropriations for Traffic & Streets, however, after review, it was identified that not all of the approved amount was moved forward.  The purpose of this revision is to bring forward the remainder of the previously approved carryover appropriations. Carryover from FY2025 that was not fully carried over into FY2026 per the new street light requirements that were approved by Council through an update to Chapter 16 Code on December 13,2022. Fiscal impact: Decrease in Fund of $235,292.  Please see Attachment A attached with more details.

Alternatives

Should Council choose not to approve the budget revision, our Traffic & Streets may not have adequate funding to continue the dark sky project, as these continuing appropriations were intended for this project per Chapter 16 Code on Dec. 13, 2022.

Fiscal and Staff Impact/Planned Item

The net fiscal impact is a decrease to General Fund revenue of $235,292. There is minimal staff impact.
