Recommended Action
I move that Council nominate and appoint Katy Jones-Gulsby to fill one vacancy on the Library Board for a partial term beginning April 1, 2026 and ending on August 31, 2026.
Body
The purpose of this item is to fill one vacancy on the Library Board.
This vacancy represents an unexpired term vacated by Brian Reardon.
The applicant for this position is Katy Jone-Gulsby [D]
The interview was held on March 2, 2026 and the interview panel consisted of the following:
Council Liaison: David Reagor
Library Board Chair: Elizabeth Stelle
Library Staff Liaison: Gwen Kalavaza
This five (5) member board has two (2) year terms, and the current roster is listed as part of Attachment A. Party affiliations are noted as [D] Democrat, [R] Republican, [I] Independent, [G] Green, [L] Libertarian, [DTS] Declined to State, and [N] Not Registered to Vote. Appointing this applicant will not violate the County Charter restriction concerning political party majorities on Boards and Commissions. These affiliations have been verified with the Clerk's Office.
