Title
2025 Strategic Priorities Discussion
Body
The County Council meets annually to discuss the prior year's accomplishments and to establish strategic priorities for the subsequent calendar year. This evening's meeting is intended to accomplish these tasks. Based on direction from the Council Chair, tonight's discussion will begin with an introduction to the process; then an overview of other communities’ dashboards that show performance metrics and priorities. County staff is currently procuring a system that will organize and monitor metrics and then display various measures in a dashboard on the County’s public website. A review of other communities’ dashboards will enable Council to see what the end results of their strategic direction could look like. A draft template (to be distributed at the meeting) of a proposed structure of this year’s Strategic Leadership Plan will then be introduced and explained. A Council discussion of the new structure will follow with Senior Management Team being available to answer questions and/or give input. Also, Council may identify changes to strategic priorities and/or focus areas.
Once the strategic priorities for the upcoming year are identified and discussed, staff will take this information and work with Council leadership to incorporate it into the plan to create the 2023 plan. This updated draft plan will be brought back to Council for final discussion and potential approval at a subsequent meeting.
Attachment A shows the 2024 Strategic Leadership Plan.
In addition, a copy of the most recent community survey is included as Attachment B to provide context for the County's planning efforts going forward.
