Title

“Water in Motion” Relocation

Recommended Action

I move that the APP board move forward with recommending to County Council that the “Water in Motion” glass art be reframed, relocated to the north wall

of the Aquatic Center lobby, and its associated costs be covered by the Aquatic Center Leisure Lagoon project.

Body

“Water in Motion” is a stained glass art piece, purchased in 1989 for $7,400, and located in the upper entry doorway of the Aquatic Center. During early discussions with the project manager of the Leisure Lagoon, it was understood that the “Water in Motion” glass art would be re-incorporated into the reconfigured glass doors of the entry wall of the Aquatic Center. During the week of Sept. 13, 2021, it was determined that the existing pieces would not fit and were not incorporated into the new entry way. On Sept 20, 2021, the project manager stated that his project will cover the costs of reframing the pieces, replace a cracked pane from removal, and hang the piece within the lobby of the Aquatic Center.
