Title

Fleet Conversion Plan and Community-Wide EV Charging Plan Update

Body

The Los Alamos County Fleet Conversion Plan and Community-Wide EV Charging Plan is a Los Alamos County Council initiative led by Stantec in collaboration with County staff. This project kicked off in March 2025. Stantec will provide a comprehensive overview on the progress made since our initial meeting. The Los Alamos Fleet Conversion and Community-Wide EV Charging Plan builds on the County’s Climate Action Plan goals to reduce greenhouse gas emissions 30% by 2030, 80% by 2040, and achieve carbon neutrality by 2050. This project evaluates the County’s fleet operations and community-wide charging network to identify opportunities for electrification, cost savings, and improved sustainability. The plan includes a roadmap for transitioning County vehicles to zero-emission technologies, strategies for siting and scaling EV charging infrastructure, and considerations for power needs and funding opportunities. The project team hosted a public meeting in May 2025 and community survey this past summer to gather input on priorities and potential charging locations. This presentation shares the results of the project’s analysis, including a coordinated strategy to advance both municipal and public EV readiness in Los Alamos County.
