Recognition of Outgoing Environmental Sustainability Board Members

Chair Chandler will acknowledge and recognize the contributions of outgoing members: Shannon Blair, Armand Groffman, Erik Loechell, KokHeong McNaughton, and Dina Pesenson. The Board members have contributed to improving environmental sustainability within Los Alamos County including implementing waste diversion programs such as yard trimmings, expanding programs to protect wildlife such as establishing Los Alamos as a Bee City, implementing bear resistant trash containers, as well and working towards stopping use of glyphosate on County property. Additionally, board members have helped develop the County’s first climate action plan and most recently have helped research the feasibility of baling twine recycling. The ESB members also serve as a voice for the community and work hard to educate and engage with the community members on environmental sustainability topics.
