Board/Commission Appointments - Planning and Zoning Commission
Recommended Action
I nominate Kyle Christensen, Alice Holtzclaw, Joshua Muck, and Ronald Nelson to fill two vacancies on the Planning and Zoning Commission with three year terms beginning on April 01, 2024 and ending on March 31, 2027.
By roll call vote, Councilors vote for two nominees and the two with the highest votes total of four or more be appointed to fill terms beginning on April 01, 2024, and ending on March 31, 2027.

(If Joshua Muck is selected for appointment, one further action is required):
I further move Council acknowledge that Joshua Muck is currently serving on the Transportation Board. Council finds these two positions compatible, Council approves of Mr. Muck serving concurrently on these boards, and hereby appoints him to the Planning and Zoning Commission.

Body
The purpose of this item is to fill two vacancies on the Planning and Zoning Commission.

The vacancies ending on March 31, 2027, represent expired terms.

The applicants for this position are: Kyle Christensen [I], Alice Holtzclaw [D], Joshua Muck [R], Ronald Nelson [D]. Their applications are shown in Attachment B, C, D, and E, respectively. All applicants were interviewed and the Interview Panel recommendation is shown in Attachment F.

Party affiliations are noted as [D] Democrat, [R] Republican, [I] Independent, [G] Green, [L] Libertarian, [DTS] Declined to State, and [N] Not Registered to Vote.

This nine member board has staggered three-year terms beginning April 01, 2024, and ending March 31, 2027. It is currently composed as follows:

In order to comply with the County's restriction concerning political party majorities on Boards and Commissions, Council can only appoint one (D) candidate at this time.
