Recommended Action
I move that Council Approve a New Mexico Department of Transportation Aviation Project Grant Agreement in the Amount of $685,000 for the Los Alamos Airport Taxiway F Relocation Project, further ratify this agreement signed by the County Manager on August 1, 2025, and Approve Related Budget Revision 2026-07.

Recommended Action
On June 24, 2025, Council approved submission of a grant application to the U.S. Department of Transportation, Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for the design of the Taxiway F Relocation Project in the Amount of $685,000. The New Mexico Department of Transportation Aviation Division (NMDOT) concurred with the County’s request and moved expeditiously with drafting and routing a grant agreement to the County for electronic signature to help secure the state and federal funds for the project. The grant provides $650,750 in FAA funds, $27,200 in state funds, and requires a $7,050 county match for a total grant amount of $685,000 as detailed in the agreement (Attachment A).
The agreement was signed by the County Manager on August 1, 2025 to ensure funding was secured. Council approval and ratification provides a transparent reconciliation of the public record for approval of the grant agreement.
A Task Order with Delta Airport Consultants for the design the Taxiway F Relocation Project is a separate but related item concurrently seeking council approval for which this funding will be utilized. More details about the project design scope are contained in that staff report.
